New Beginnings

So, I have been really bad about updating everyone through emails, phone calls, etc... so I figured I would start a blog so I can keep everyone posted. Since wedding day, life seems like it has been a non stop adventure. Always something new and crazy going on. Our honeymoon in the Dominican was great, we had such a relaxing, amazing time. Just what we needed after all of the wedding craziness.

On July 8th, we flew out here to Hawaii to start our lives together. When we first came out, our little O'hana (apartment) under Josh's house wasn't quite finished yet, so Ben and I moved back in to his old house since he still had his lease at his place with his roommates. Luckily, his roommates were'nt back in Hawaii yet, so we had the place to ourselves. We lived there out of our suitcases for about a week and then began moving our stuff into our little studio! Our lanai wasn't quite finished yet, so for about a week they worked on getting it screened, and painted so that we could put some of our things in the storage space since our place is so tiny. We had fun garage sale-ing and getting lots of things to use our vertical space. We are finally getting it settled in, and are just waiting on getting our sink installed in the bathroom so we can start brushing our teeth in the bathroom instead of the kitchen sink :) So, our little home is coming together nicely, and we are having lots of fun getting all settled in.

We have also been doing our fair share of going to the beach, kayaking, turtle-sighting adventures, and such. Ben has been surfing lots, and just got a new surfboard! I usually go hang on the beach and read a good book while he surfs :) There is a yoga on the beach class offered for free on wednesday evenings so I have been going to that each week, and it seems like the group that will be going each week is growing and we usually get sushi and frozen yogurt after! I also got a gym membership and have been meeting some friends for yoga classes and have tried a couple of the other classes as well. The monday afternoon yoga class is quite unique, but so much fun, and an awesome work out. I have also been keeping real busy running errands, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, all of the exciting wifely duties since Ben has been back to teaching this week!

Life in Hawaii has been such an amazing adventure so far, and being married to my best friend is such a blessing. Going through this awesome adventure together has had its up's and down's but having each other has made the transition much easier. We are living in such a beautiful place, and it is hard not being able to share it with close friends and family back home. I am missing Colorado, some days more than others, but I'm sure that Hawaii will slowly become more like home.

I got a job working at Kealakehe High School with Ben. I will be starting out as a part time teacher, and then once all my materials clear through the Hawaii Dept. of Education, I can move into a full time contracted teaching position. We are going to be praying for what is best for us with Ben being so busy with work and grad school.

Anyways, thats our lives in a nutshell so far, and I will try to update this as much as possible to keep up with this crazy Hawaiian life. :)

Oh ps. We saw a ginormous 767 lb. marlin at Bite Me Fish Market last night. Holy geez, it was a beast. ok bye.
